Learn to meditate
If you live in Sheffield and you want to learn to meditate, here's your chance. I'm James a former PE teacher, turned health coach and meditation teacher. More and more, we are understanding the benefits of meditation, but it's easy to feel lost when teaching yourself. So why not give yourself some expert tuition, from someone who know's what you need to get started.
About The sessions
I give 1-1 tuition or teach groups up to 8 at a studio in Sheffield (details below). Alternatively, I will come and teach you in the comfort of your own home. All you need is a quiet room and I'll bring the cushions, so we can sit comfortably. If you aren't in Sheffield I can teach you over Skype or FaceTime.
About the Benefits
I love this quote, but meditation isn't just for those who suffer. Meditation is for anyone who wants to build mental resilience and get more from life. Successful men and women all over the world, are using meditation to better themselves. The best way to summarise what I get from meditation it's this:
But there are other benefits:
- I'm happier and more content with life
- I'm kinder
- I'm more confident
- I have less negative self talk
- I'm more productive
- I'm more resilient
- I a better relationship with myself
- I know what I want
- I take better care of myself
- My memory has improved
- I fumble my words less
- I eat less junk food
- I exercise more
- I've learnt to want for less and be happy with what I have.
Why learn with me?
I teach people how to close their eyes, sit on a cushion, observe their breath and their thoughts. I help people to learn how their minds work, which helps them to achieve greater health and happiness.
If you're put off by overly spiritual people, who talk about the intangible, you're not alone. It puts me off too. What I do in my classes, is take the mystical and turn into into the pragmatic. I'm only interested in methods that work and give immediate results.
So why not come along and enjoy some peace and quiet? It's a great way to get away from the demands of modern living. And a great way to train your mind to become stronger and more resilient.

About the teacher
Hi I'm James, and in my thirty years on this planet I've learnt a few things. But nothing has had a bigger impact on me than learning how to meditate. It's had a huge knock on effect in so many areas of my life.
I learnt to meditate in three different settings:
- In a mindfulness retreat, Zen Buddhism associated with Thich Nhat Hanh
- In a Tibetan Buddhist retreat (Mahayana) and
- In Vipassana retreats
In 2013 I sat my first Vipassana course, a 10 day meditation retreat. 10 days in total silence with no reading, writing or listening to music. 10 days without televisions, computers and mobile phones. No emails, no Facebook and no books!
Since then my brain has not been the same. I'm no modern day Buddha or Dalai Lama but what I learnt is worth sharing. What I teach is non dogmatic and non sectarian. It's purely pragmatic. I want to teach you the benefits of meditation and to expel the myths surrounding meditation. But most of all I want to teach you to be a little happier.
Once we've learnt to how to meditate it's a tool we can keep with us for the rest of our lives. So why not come along and learn how you can use this wonderful tool to help you in your life.
All the best
